Surface preparation
Clean and degrease the repair area before sanding, then re-clean the abraded substrate before application. U-POL's current technical guidance specifies P80 for bare steel, P180 for aluminium and original paintwork, P180 for galvanised steel and GRP/SMC, and P80-P180 for existing body filler.
Mixing & application
- Mixing ratio at 20°C: 100 parts filler to 2 parts BPO hardener by weight
- At 10°C use 3% hardener; at 30°C use 1%
- Work time at 20°C: approximately 4-6 minutes
- Apply immediately after mixing using a pressing action to minimise air entrapment
- Maximum recommended fill depth: approximately 4-7 mm
- Not recommended for application below 5°C
Drying & sanding
- Sandable at 20°C after approximately 15-20 minutes
- Initial sanding: P80-P120
- Final sanding: P180-P240
